Thank you to those of you who have provided feedback either electronically or by attending the open house last week. The feedback was extremely helpful in developing a policy that will meet the needs of our families. We have made substantial changes to our draft policy as a result. We are currently in the process of determining if we can successfully provide transportation to all students under this new draft policy, and what the additional associated costs would be. We are working hard to answer those questions as quickly as possible.

The new draft policy is as follows:

Beginning in the 2023-2024 school year, all new students (including incoming kindergarten students) will attend the school according to the adjusted attendance boundaries.

All current K-5 students in the adjusted attendance boundaries can choose to remain at the school they currently attend or attend the school in alignment with the new attendance boundaries.

Incoming kindergarteners in the adjusted attendance boundaries with siblings currently attending can request a zone transfer to attend the same school as their sibling. Zone transfers are approved based on space available, and priority is given to those with siblings of continuing students.

Again, your feedback is invaluable as we determine the attendance boundaries that will remain in place for many years to come. We are analyzing the feedback we have so far, and will be sharing the feedback with the Enrollment Rebalancing Committee.

The committee's next step is to make adjustments to the boundaries you reviewed at the open house based on your feedback. This scenario will be presented to the Superintendent by February 20th and will be made available on our website on February 21. The Superintendent will then make a recommendation to the board on February 27th for a board decision on March 13.

The best way to provide feedback is through the online survey. Individual emails or letters may not always reach the committee.
