Tui Whānau Newsletter
Term 1 2022
Rooms 1, 2, 3 and 4
Dear Whānau and Parents,
Welcome to the start of our new school year! A warm welcome to all of our new families who have joined the Ardmore School Community. The Tui team have had a relaxing break and are excited for learning to begin once again.
We are very fortunate to be joined in the middle school team this year by Mr Flynn Ryan who will be teaching Room 3 this year.
We are also very excited to see the refurbishing of Rooms 1, 2 and 3 progressing so well. While this work is taking place you will find Mrs Kumar and the Room 1 tamariki, and Mr Ryan and the Room 3 students in the hall. Miss Scherini and the Room 2 tamariki are in the school library, while Miss Sangster and the Room 4 students remain in Room 4. We are hopeful that the new classes will be ready by the beginning of Term 2.
Hats are compulsory for every student, everyday in Term 1.
Swimming
Swimming is an important part of the New Zealand Curriculum so participation is essential. It helps to develop confidence and safety in the water and is a fun activity for the class. Please speak to the classroom teacher if you have any concerns.
Please ensure all clothing is named: underwear, shorts, culottes, shirts, dresses, shoes, hats, togs, towels and goggles.

Communication
You can contact your child’s teacher through an email with any issues or concerns. Please do talk to us, we would all rather sort out any small queries or problems before they become bigger. It is also really helpful for us to know of significant events at home that may affect your child at school. If your contact details, e.g. phone number or email change please let us know so we are able to contact your easily if needed.
School Uniform
Students are expected to wear the correct school uniform. Long hair is to be tied up and no jewellery or nail polish is allowed.
School wide brimmed sun hats must be worn in Term 1 and 4. Please check that all clothing, including school uniforms, hats, sports clothes and shoes are clearly named so if they are misplaced the owner can be found.
