From The Pastors Desk
Over the last month, we have been working our way through the Gospel
of Matthew during worship. Jesus has been teaching in parables. Using
stories that exaggerate, illuminate, or use imagery and analogies to help
us understand or perhaps think deeper on a hard-to-understand subject.
This past Sunday Jesus was teaching what the “Kingdom of heaven is
like.” He used seeds, yeast, and precious stones to remind us that in
God's Kingdom, the smallest or the most precious have an equal value
that grows as we use the gifts God gave us all.
If I was to give a parable on what the Kingdom of Heaven is like, I
would say, “The Kingdom Of Heaven is like a picnic.”
Yes. A picnic. The Kingdom of Heaven was lived into as we
participated in our first joint outdoor picnic and potluck. Around 60
people from St. Pauls and Bristol shared in worship, a delicious meal,
ending with a rousing game of Bingo.
Two churches, one family, coming together to share our ministries as we
love God and each other. This is the Kingdom of Heaven.
Here are a few pictures of “What the Kingdom of Heaven is like.”

Free Brat Day!!
We will host a Free Brat Giveaway Saturday, Aug. 19th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. We will be using Sunshine Place, 1632 W. Main Street in Sun Prairie to give away brats, bottled water and chips, 1 per person, while supplies last. We are planning to include a donation spot to benefit the Sunshine Place/Food Pantry.
We estimate our costs to be just about $700 for supplies. We need donations. We are looking into merchants’ donations and discounts. If you know of anyone we should contact, please let us know. The hope is that we will have enough donations from our members to cover all of the supplies. We’d like to be able to give all donations on that day to the Food Pantry.
This event is a great way to reach out to the community with free food and promote giving back to the community with food and donations.
We will need help closer to the event and on that day. There will be a lot of brats to cook, package, give out, etc. and we do have some of our Life and Growth/Outreach that won’t be able to help as much due to surgeries. If you can donate, with money and/or helping, please contact us. I am listing some of the committee members below to contact.
