❤️ Red Ribbon Week ❤️
Red Ribbon Week runs from October 23 through October 31. The 2023 national Red Ribbon Week theme is "Be Kind to Your Mind. Live Drug-Free.” This week marks the occasion when schools across the country focus their attention on drug use and prevention among school-aged children. National Red Ribbon Week began in 1988 with a Congressional Proclamation. This week is dedicated to Federal Drug Enforcement agent Enrique Camerena who was killed by a drug trafficker in 1985. National Red Ribbon Week has become a symbol for a drug-free society.
Red Ribbon Week is celebrated by over 100,000 schools and organizations nationwide. Each day an announcement will be made reminding us of Fugett Middle School’s commitment to be drug-free. Part of the announcement will include a statistic or fact regarding drug or alcohol use.
Fugett will have special Red Ribbon Week themes each day. The Red Ribbon Week committee encourages all the students and staff to dress in the theme of the day.

Students in Mrs. Hafer's 6th grade science class investigated how the cell membrane functions using eggs without shells placed in different liquids. Students made observations, asked questions, and sketched a model of what they saw. Throughout the remainder of the week they will discover the answers to their questions and learn about the important functions of the cell membrane.

PTO NEWS
Happy Fright Night Week!
Our decorating committee has completed the awesome entrance decor and our Haunted House committee is busy this week with setting up!
We also still have some scare slots that need filling, so be sure to check out the Volunteer SUG HERE.
For those that signed up for food and water donations please be sure your donations make it to the front office by Friday morning!
At the time of this email we are down to 165 tickets remaining. Here is the link to our ticketing page: TICKETS
As you may know our 2nd time slot is sold out. We've received a handful of emails from parents whose student didn't get into the later time slot with a group of friends. To remedy this, if the group of friends can purchase tickets together for the earlier time slot, we can then refund the tickets to the later time slot. If you are able to coordinate this amongst friends, please email your 5:00 ticket confirmation email, and your request to refund your 7:00 ticket to fugettpto@gmail.com. As a reminder NO tickets will be sold at the door and once the tickets are sold out there will be no more tickets offered.
Lastly, Fright Night is limited to Fugett Middle School students only (for capacity and liability purposes). While we are not able to extend ticket sales to elementary school friends or siblings, we look forward to having those students join us when they enter 6th grade. We appreciate your understanding of sticking to our capacity limits, and we hope this can help with some groups of students attending together.
