Weekly Wrap

Principal Notes
Hello, BHS students and families!
We got off to a great start in week one! Overall, our new schedule structure operated smoothly, we are adapting to the new hall pass system, and we had a great turn out for our Open House.
As you may or may not know, BHS Assistant Principal Mr. Orlando Benzan has accepted the role of Coordinator of Equity and Inclusivity in the Pittsford Central School District. His final day with us will be Friday, September 15th. We are happy to welcome back Mr. Don Voorheis, who will serve in Mr. Benzan's place while we work through the permanent hiring process. We wish Mr. Benzan well in his new position. I am confident Mr. Voorheis can support your students in any way necessary during this interim, but please contact me at any time if you need any additional support.
As we settle in, please contact any member of our team if you our your student have questions or need any support.

Homecoming
Spirit Week Dress-Up Days
Our BCSD Homecoming celebration is just a couple of weeks away. Please note, our student council chose the following dress up themes for the week:
- Monday is Jersey Day: wear your favorite sports team jersey or colors
- Tuesday is Adam Sandler Day: wear baggy clothing or any Adam Sandler character. For examples, please see the Middle School's rendition from last Spring
- Wednesday is Country Club vs Country Day: wear polos or flannel
- Thursday is Barbie & Ken Day: wear pink or anything inspired by the summer blockbuster film
- Friday is Class Color Day: Classes will be ordering homecoming t-shirts. Freshmen are White, Sophomores are Grey, Juniors are Blue, Seniors are Black
Please see last week's Smore linked below in the archived newsletters for additional Homecoming information.
Morning Arrival Reminders
We are happy to welcome students into BHS every school day morning when our doors open at 7:10am. Busses will drop off in the main bus loop at the front of the school, student drivers must park in the lot located on the west side of the building, and parents dropping their student(s) off should do so in the east side parking lot only.
If you are a parent dropping your student off, please note the following:
- The parent drop off location is the east side of the building (the right side as you are facing the front doors). Please do not drop students off at the front of the building. This can be unsafe and interfere with our morning bus drop offs.
- There will be signs and cones indicating the dedicated drop-off area at the curb on the east side of the building. Please only drop off your child in this area.
- BCSD support staff will direct traffic in the drop-off area. We ask that all drivers pull as far forward in the drop-off area as they can before letting their student out of the car.
- All cars must remain in the drop-off line and drop off curbside only. Please do not pull through or park in parking spots when dropping off students. This significantly impairs our ability to control traffic patterns and to keep pedestrians out of the flow of traffic.
- Please remain in line and do not pass other cars in the drop-off line.
- Please do not drive down the middle row. That lane is only for staff members who are parking.
- School doors will open at 7:10am. Students will not be able to enter the building prior to that time.
- When leaving parking lot D from 7-7:30am, you must turn right. This will allow traffic to flow more effectively and avoid backups.
- If your student(s) would like to get breakfast at BHS, please instruct them to go directly to the cafeteria upon their arrival at school.
Please reference the image below for clarification on traffic patterns.
Thank you for your assistance and cooperation in maintaining the safety of everyone on our campus.

CEPACS Technology Support
Technology Support Reminders
- Students are NOT ALLOWED to use personal devices for school & must bring their school issued devices for use every day! To use a personal device on a district network is a violation of the Acceptable User Policy as we are not a “Bring Your Own Device District.”
- Students in need of technology support should NOT to go to the main office for tech support. They should put in a work order through the CEPACS Work Order link on ClassLink & seek support in room (the Forum) instead. This will help speed up the process of the devices being repaired faster.
- All Campus Student/IC/Slow laptop/Updates work orders are completed remotely and students do not need to leave class.
Thank you, and let us know if you need any technology support.
