Welcome Moran Knights!

Hello Moran parents and students! I'm so very excited to start my fourth year here at Moran. I love our school community and the excitement of a new school year is in the air! I hope you all have been having a fabulous summer. The rain and the heat have made it interesting, but the time to relax and recharge is so nice.

We would love to see everyone at our Back to School Night on August 15th at 6 pm. You can meet your child's teacher at that time. You can also get a car rider tag if you plan on transporting your child. If you have a car rider tag from last year, we will continue to use it. You only need to stop by the Car Rider table if you didn't have one!

We have some new staff to welcome, but I'm especially excited to introduce you to our Assistant to the Principal, Mrs. Fox! She and I will be working closely together to support teachers, students, and parents. We are so excited to have her!

Get to Know Mrs. Fox

I am delighted to join Moran Elementary as Assistant to the Principal. I come to Moran with ten years in the PHM district serving Prairie Vista and Elsie Rogers as a classroom teacher in both third and fourth grades. I have a passion for fostering academic excellence and student development along with experience in STEM with a focus on computer science. I am a mom to two boys and love a good adventure! I look forward to an exciting and successful academic year together!

Your student's ID number can be found in Skyward, or many students remember theirs from using it all the time!

Transportation Deadline!

The deadline to route students for the first day of school is August 8th. If you change your address or sign up for transportation after that date, you cannot be guaranteed transportation on the first day of school.

Our office is open starting today! Call between 7:30 and 3:30 to enroll for transportation or change your address.

On August 8th, please check the EZRouting Parent Portal. Route information will be avaliable on this day.

A Special Welcome to our Newest Knights!

We are so excited to welcome your Kindergarten student to Moran! Please mark your calendars for the Kindergarten Orientation on August 16! Kindergarten students do not attend the first full day of school. Instead parents and students come in for an orientation with our Kindergarten Teachers. Students with the last names that start with A-L will come at 10 am and students with the last names that start with M-Z will come at 1:30 pm.

Students and parents will be separated for portion of this orientation. While parents hear from teachers, students will be able to have fun in the classrooms, play on the playground, and learn how our cafeteria works.

We've heard and read a lot about how best to place our Kindergarten students into classes for the beginning of the year. In the past, we've done screening in the spring but have found that information is not accurate by the time school starts. Also, there's no better way to get to know students than by being with them in the classroom! Due to these reasons, we are going to create one large Kindergarten Community for the first few days of instruction.

Our students will be placed in groups and taught by each of our three teachers throughout these days. Our teacher aides will also be giving one on one assessments on numbers, letters, handwriting, etc., during this time to help us give your child the very best possible placement with the teacher that is the best fit for him or her! Last year was the first year for our "Kindergarten Community" and it worked out so well!
