LEAD: Pivoting to serve in a new normal
Moving the 28th Annual Volunteer Service Awards to a virtual medium that might lack the emotional appeal of a live event did, in fact, prove to be a very compelling platform that allowed us to connect personally with our volunteers and nonprofit partners. One of the more significant benefits of the pivot to a virtual event was the extended bandwidth of the celebration and recognition of accomplishments across the community to many who would have not been able to attend an in-person event.
CONNECT: VF Launches the United As One Giving Campaign
We are committed to helping our community heal, recover, and rebuild from this turbulent time. To address the work that needs to be done, we are launching United As One, our end-of-year giving campaign. With you by our side, Volunteer Fairfax can carry out our critical mission to connect volunteers and resources to meet growing community demands. We can accomplish more when we are #UnitedAsOne. Thank you!
MOBILIZE: Volunteers demonstrate Fidelity's commitment to community
Jennifer Gray, Fidelity Investments‘ Senior Community Relations Manager asked the Volunteer Fairfax Corporate Services team in early May whether they were up for a bit of a wild idea. For the past 5 years, as a member of Points of Light’s Corporate Activation Reserve Squad (CARS), Volunteer Fairfax had answered the call to manage two School Transformation Days with Fidelity Investments employees, supporting schools in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Volunteer Fest is where everyone of all ages, backgrounds & abilities can come together to serve our community.
Cheers to awesome volunteers staffing the VF Donation Center.
Your individual acts of kindness, good deeds, and volunteerism are positive stories worth sharing!
