Career Center News
Winter break is just around the corner. Seniors have been busy making plans for their futures. Juniors have been discovering things about themselves that will support their career goals. Sophomores are getting involved and making connections, and first year ninth grade students are learning a lot about what it takes to be in high school. No matter where you are on your journey, your tenacity and perseverance are inspiring! As we close out 2023, remember to celebrate your accomplishments, let go of worries (at least for a short while), and try to relax and enjoy the journey!
For seniors, as you are starting to hear admission decisions from colleges, please update Scoir accordingly. This private information is vital in planning purposes here in the College and Career Center. Also, this will save you a step later in the year when it comes to requesting final transcripts (more on that later).
If you have never visited the Career Center, make a point to stop in. We have great resources for all students, not just seniors.

Upcoming Leo Club Projects
As part of the Leo Club’s work to address isolation and loneliness with senior citizens, they will be volunteering at Arbor Oaks Senior Living two times per month. They will be carrying out activities such as: teaching technology, spa day, dance classes, art classes, and game night! For the month of November, we want to recognize and celebrate Grace Swanson. Since her freshman year, Grace has accumulated over 160 volunteer hours! She is compassionate, and dedicated to helping others. The efforts of Grace as a student volunteer have made Andover High School, and our community a better place.
News from the Volunteer Services Coordinator
On February 10, 2024, the Anoka-Hennepin School District will be holding its Annual STEM Fair at Anoka High School in Anoka, Minnesota. With well over 2,000 students involved, this Fair is the largest of its kind in the entire State. In order for this Fair to work, we need community members to be volunteers and/or judges at the Fair. Teachers can earn up to 5 CEU’s!
Prospective judges do not need science or math backgrounds. We provide training for all of the judges. We are looking for responsible adults who are willing to give something back to the community. Please consider being a judge/volunteer.
For more information, please visit the STEM Fair website at: http://www.ahschools.us/stemfair

Trimester 2 Parking Lot Reminders
The parking lot at Andover High School can be a challenge for young and old drivers alike but, if we all follow a few simple rules, students can have a safe and enjoyable commute to and from school as well as keep their vehicles safe while in the parking lot. You can read our Parking Lot Rules and Procedures page to take note of some items and share them with your student(s).
