WELCOME
So glad you are here!
Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year
We are coming up to the whirlwind "Maycember" and hopefully we can help you keep all the upcoming events!
We had a great event recognizing our teachers and loved having them walk the red carpet and sign the Wall of Fame. This week is Teacher's Appreciation Week and we are so excited to highlight and celebrate our dedicated and hard-working teachers.
Upcoming events: Teacher Cookie Drive, PTO Meeting, Scholastic Book Fair, Family Picnic Night, 5th grade events, and more; can't wait to see you at these events!
As you start to think about summer trips, camps, and events, you might want to consider ordering new name labels to keep your child's belongings together. Scroll down to see how you can order from Mabel's Labels and support Hemenway in the process! Win-win!
Please email us at anytime (hemenwayschoolpto@gmail.com) if you are interested in volunteering for events or have any ideas & feedback to share with the PTO. See you on May 9th for our next meeting.
UPCOMING EVENTS
We are treating our teachers to sweet treats! Please drop off any baked good (homemade or store bought) during morning drop off (Friday May 9th) and teachers will get to build their own box of goodies to take home. Thank you for your contribution!
PTO Board Nominations & Elections
Our May PTO meeting (May 14) will include nominations for board member positions, and we will vote on the nominations at our June meeting. Please plan on attending the May meeting if you would like to either be nominated or nominate someone (with their permission). We are especially interested in having someone nominated for the treasurer position.
We love having a variety of skills and abilities represented in our board and look forward to adding your talents to the list.
Please consider volunteering to help with Field Day on Monday, June 16. We appreciate your help!
May PTO Monthly Meeting
Join us in-person for the next PTO meeting! All are welcome!

RECENT EVENTS
Our red carpet and starwalk ready for our teachers and staff!
The robotics club wrapped up Session 1 with an exciting demo session, where students proudly showcased the robots they built and programmed over the past eight weeks. Parents and caregivers attended as students explained their designs and demonstrated how their robots performed specific tasks using their coding skills. It was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate their hard work and creativity! Session 2 has now kicked off and will run for seven weeks, bringing even more hands-on learning and innovation.
WAYS TO VOLUNTEER
READ AT THE HEMENWAY LIBRARY
Did you know that you can volunteer to read at the Hemenway Library during your child's scheduled library class time? First you will need to have a current CORI on file (see instructions below). Then it's just as easy as emailing our wonderful school Library Media Specialist Karen Rothwell at krothwell@framingham.k12.ma.us. She can tell you the time that your child's class meets and what days to come in. It's a quick and super fun way to volunteer!
SPIRIT WEAR
Hemenway Tigers Spirit Wear
Want to showcase your school spirit and support the PTO by wearing some great gear! Through our partnership with SquadLocker we have a great online store with shirts, hoodies, shorts, pants, outwear, bags, and other accessories. These make excellent Holiday gifts as well. Partial proceeds benefit the Hemenway PTO. Just click on Stripes the Tiger to start shopping!
Our school is fundraising with Mabel’s Labels! If you’re not familiar with Mabel’s Labels, they make personalized, durable, waterproof labels. This is a great way to ensure your items don’t end up in the lost & found or mixed up. To support our fundraiser visit campaigns.mabelslabels.com and select Hemenway Elementary School (Framingham).
