Attendance
This is the place to find answers to your frequently asked questions regarding attendance, excused absence form and contact information for our Attendance team
Attendance for TVAH is accounted for in the following ways:
- Working daily on coursework in the Learning Management System (LMS) aka the Online School.
- Attending and participating in daily assigned virtual online sessions with State- certified teachers(Class connects or recordings)
- Working in Progress Learning.
- Attending required in-person state assessments such as STAAR, TELPAS, and STAAR EOC tests.
Can we gain attendance by using iPads, Tablets, or Chromebooks?
Unfortunately, mobile devices such as tablets, phones, and Chromebooks cannot be used as a primary device for accessing the Online School because they do not support all the necessary software products. They are not to be used as primary devices for daily attendance and should only be used for temporary & short term situations. Devices running the latest iOS, iPadOS, and AndroidOS can be used as supplemental & short term devices in some cases, but your experience may vary between different courses and different devices
As a Texas Public School, students are expected to attend school from Monday through Friday and may log instructional time any time during the day and on any day of the week between the first and the last day of school, in accordance to the School Calendar. Students have until 10:59pm CST to receive daily attendance. Please note that students can not work on a weekend allowing them to substitute a school day.
