A Kenwood Tradition: Food for Staff on Conference Day 🌸
We love to provide nourishment for our Kenwood educators and staff during their extra-long day of family and caregiver conferences on Feb. 20.
We'll provide muffins/yoghurt/fruit and coffee for breakfast, and then pizza, veggies and dip, desserts and drinks for a dinner that staff can grab whenever they have a break.
Please see the sign-up to make contributions, or to contribute financially (any amount truly helps!) Venmo @ashly-dull.
If you need to drop items off early, please email ashlydull@gmail.com to coordinate. Thank you!
Lunchroom Volunteers Still Needed!
Can you volunteer in the Kenwood lunchroom on Thursdays?
Volunteers help students open milk cartons and wrappers, support positive interactions among students by having conversations with and among our young Woodchucks, pass out napkins and utensils, and help clean the tables before the next group of students enter the lunchroom.
Please sign up for a shift here. If you have any questions about lunch volunteering or would like to come on a different day, please reach out to Kelly Henry at kellybhenry@gmail.com. Thank you!
Volunteer for the Scholastic Book Fair 📚
The Scholastic Book Fair returns to Kenwood Media Center next week! On Monday and Tuesday, students will have the opportunity to preview the book fair with their classmates. The book fair opens Wednesday and Thursday for student shopping throughout the school day. Caregivers may also shop the book fair Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m. or Thursday from 9:15 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Kenwood Spirit Wear will be available for purchase.
We are still recruiting adult volunteers to help with set up and clean up, and to work during the book fair, assisting with preview days and shopping days. It's a lot of fun! Please review the volunteer sign-up link to see if a timeslot works with your schedule. If you have any questions, please reach out to Marstal Aamodt at (619) 572-3412 or marstal.aamodt@gmail.com.
Lost & Found + Mabel's Labels 🧤
Our lost and found is overflowing! Please take a look while you are here for events and conferences in the coming weeks to see if you recognize any missing items.
In addition, a reminder to please label all items so we can reunite them with their owners. If you are looking for strong adhesive stick on labels, consider shopping with Mabel's Labels. When you're ready to checkout, you'll see a search field to look up your school, daycare, or camp. Type in "Kenwood" and select the first option for Kenwood Community School. With your purchase, Kenwood will receive a commission through Mabel's Labels fundraising program.
