REFLECTION
In Sunday’s reading John’s Gospel often shows how God respects the pace at which each person journeys to faith. A few, like John the Baptist, go fast and perceive quickly who Jesus is and proclaim him. Hardly has Jesus appeared on the scene when John proclaims that Jesus is the “Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the others to Jesus (v. 42).
At each of these steps, Jesus respects her and leads her forward gently and slowly. It all started with a physical need of water. She thought herself in control: she had something to fetch water and Jesus did not. From this feeling of self-satisfaction, Jesus leads her on to desire the living water that God gives. She does not yet realize that this living water is now in Jesus. Feeling that there is more to Jesus than meets the eye, she is not afraid to admit her past life and her unfulfilled desires. She reveals her sin and her real desire. She then engages in the eternal bone of contention between the Samaritans and the Jews; in which temple can one really worship God?
Again, Jesus leads her beyond a worship linked to a place to worshipping permanently in the Spirit. From this new awareness it is only a small step to recognize the Messiah in the person speaking to her. She has arrived at the summit of her journey but still Jesus helps her take another step when he refers to himself as “I am”. She could have recalled that this was how God revealed himself to Moses on the mountain (Ex 3: 14).
The journey of faith for catechumens and for us all is a long one, but it leads to an ever-deepening discovery of God’s love for us. Our faith-journey takes time and we must allow him to guide us. We must never be satisfied with what we have discovered about Jesus. It is only by a radical change of heart and mind that we can and his road and become his witnesses.
FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parents/Guardians,
The last 72 hours have been a whirlwind for all of us in preparing for Distance Education. I must say, as of today it is working smoothly.
Thank God that we have had all our teachers trained in the use of technology and with the integration of technology into the curriculum.
It is unfortunate that we have had to leave the traditional classroom and move to the virtual world of learning, but it is certainly an experience that we will not forget.
In all my years as an educator this is the first time that I have experienced such an event.
Attendance
Just a remainder to everyone, that students will need to log into their programs and complete the set work assigned by the teachers. Each morning students need to take their own attendance.
Today we have made the attendance form a little friendlier for parents/students to log in. We are also looking at having a help desk, but this may take a little time to organize.
Report Cards
Second Trimester Report Cards were released today.

BOX TOPS
Box Tops for Education was started by General Mills in California back in 1996, after the company decided they wanted to create a program to help support education and benefit America’s schools. All Souls has benefitted from this program over the years, receiving sports equipment, microscopes, and a variety of other educational items.
You can help by clipping the Box Tops off approved products you already have in your pantry. You don't need to clip the actual product UPC — just the Box Tops logo will do. From frozen foods to produce and household cleaning products, there are literally hundreds of opportunities to help, and each Box Top is worth 10 cents. Doesn't sound like a lot, but it adds up fast.
There are so many participating companies! Participating companies and product lines include General Mills, Green Giant, Totino's, Pillsbury, Old El Paso, Ziploc, Hefty, Juicy Juice, Betty Crocker and many more. For a full list of eligible items check the Box Tops for Education website at https://www.boxtops4education.com/earn .
Please see the flyer below for more details about new additions to the Box Tops program.
