Gwinnett County Public Schools Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council (SSAC) is a unique opportunity for middle and high school students to share their feedback, school experiences, and perspectives on various issues affecting students, schools, and communities with Superintendent Dr. Calvin J. Watts.

Through the council, students are able to voice their ideas, share suggestions for improving our schools and our district, act as thought partners as they connect with fellow students, and build their leadership capacity alongside students with whom they may not otherwise work alongside.

The application for the 2023-24 SSAC will be available in the Student Portal from August 9-27, 2023. Additional details about the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council, including meeting dates and times, is available on our website.

The Office of Family Engagement is excited to present Universal Screeners Family Night for all GCPS families., part of the Engage, Equip, Empower Series. This virtual meeting is an opportunity for families to learn about the iReady and MAP Universal Screeners and how screeners formulate the next steps needed in instruction to support all students.

The Universal Screeners Family Night will occur virtually on August 29 from 5:30 - 6:30 PM. Please share the following advertisements with your school community and families. The advertisements are translated into Spanish, Korean, Vietnamese, and Chinese for your convenience.

Are you interested in learning more about computer science? The "Girls Who Code" club is on a mission to close the gender gap in technology and to change the image of what a programmer looks like and does. "Girls Who Code" is open to all girls in grades 6-8 who are interested in learning more about technology, computers and coding. No computer experience is required. If you are interested in joining this club, fill out the interest survey located on the Trickum Middle School website, under for students, extracurricular activities, clubs and organizations.
