THANKSGIVING ISSUE
“Where faith soars, minds excel, and futures ignite”
Weeks of November 16th - November 30th
2023-2024 School Year - Issue #13
"No duty is more urgent than that of returning thanks.”
~St. Ambrose
Hello St. Michael- St. Clement Students and Families,
As we gathered for mass this morning, I encouraged each student to take a moment and reflect on something they are grateful for. I urged them to not only think about it in their minds, but to truly feel it in their hearts and dedicate the mass to that one thing they hold dear. And now, for my Thanksgiving message this year, I extend this invitation to all families.
Life has a way of throwing both joys and challenges our way. When things are going well, we often forget to acknowledge them as blessings. It is during difficult times that we find ourselves constantly seeking additional blessings to make things better, yet we fail to express gratitude or reflect upon the good that comes our way.
Therefore, in the days leading up to Thanksgiving, I implore everyone reading this to find at least one thing they are thankful for this year. Take a few moments of quiet prayer and reflection to express gratitude to God for that particular blessing.
Before I conclude, I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation to the incredible individuals who have shown unwavering support for the Bazaar. The following group has dedicated countless hours to meticulously plan, prepare, and execute yet another remarkable event:

Colder/Inclement Weather
The time of year has come where the temperatures are getting colder and inclement weather becomes a possibility. As a reminder, all students will go outside for recess unless the temperatures or wind chill are below freezing. Please make sure to send students into school with proper outerwear for outdoor recess.
Also, if inclement weather does occur, St. Michael - St. Clement School follows Baltimore County Public Schools when following school closures or delays. If a closure or delay occurs, we will also send out a notification via our school alert system. Please do not call the school office. Thank you!

Student Council News
Coat Drive for ShareBaby
ShareBaby, a non-profit community organization, addresses the unmet basic needs of Baltimore's most vulnerable young children through the distribution of diapers and other essential items.
As the weather gets colder, they face an increased need for winter coats. Each winter season our community partners request thousands of coats for the children they serve. Unfortunately, they never have enough.
The Student Council will be hosting a coat drive from Monday, November 6 - Friday, November 17th.
**We need your help to collect NEW and gently used warm winter coats in sizes newborn - 6x. Our highest need is for toddler sizes 2T - 5T.**
Purple Friday's
Let's celebrate the 2023 Ravens season and embrace Purple Fridays! We invite the entire school community to join us every Friday, unless there's a game scheduled on a Monday or Thursday, in which case we'll have a special Purple Day. Kindly follow these guidelines to make the most of this exciting tradition:
- Students are permitted to wear a Ravens Jersey, T-Shirt, Hoodie, or Jacket in place of their school uniform polo/shirt.
- Students are permitted to wear a plain Purple T-Shirt or Hoodie in place of their school uniform polo/shirt.
- Being good sports, if you are not a fan of the Ravens, another teams Jersey, Hoodie, or T-Shirt will be permitted in place of their school uniform polo/shirt.
- Everything else is Friday uniform as usual.
