Inside Centennial Schools
February 2, 2024
Connecting. Achieving. Preparing.
Enjoying a Beach Day at Golden Lake Elementary
Students at Golden Lake Elementary floated to the sound of waves crashing along the shoreline while reading their favorite book. The school's gym was transformed into a tropical paradise, a perfect setting for some beach reading. KSTP reported out on the fun!
Peer Leaders Help Students Cram for Finals
More than 20 Centennial High School peer leaders hosted a Cookies and Cram for 9th grade students to help them prepare for their first round of finals.
Preparing for the Future
Centennial High School students explored programs in animation and design, animal science, cosmetology, aviation, welding, automotive, criminal justice, and medical careers (EMT, nursing assistant and dental) at the 916 Career and Tech Center Showcase. Students can access this programming through 916 and enroll in courses at Century College while taking their required core courses at Centennial.
A Peek into STEM Classes at Centennial Middle School
Centennial Middle School students are designing and building robots and CO2 cars, testing them against their peers' projects, and learning from others while enrolled in STEM classes.
Having Fun in the Snow!
With no snow in the forecast, students in Ms. Twohy Lemay's kindergarten class at Centennial Elementary made magic snow in the classroom.
The snow was perfect for learning about woodland animals, and students made dens for the bears to hibernate in.
The kindergarteners had great fun playing in the snow!

Centennial Preschool Registration Opens March 1
The Centennial School District offers high-quality part-day and full-day preschool experiences. Preschool classes are designed to prepare students, ages 3-5, and families for success in kindergarten, practicing both academic and social skills in a “learning-through-play” philosophy. Full-day classrooms are located at each of the elementary schools in the Centennial School District; part-day classrooms are at the Early Childhood Center. Our preschool has earned a 4 Star Parent Aware Rating. Registrations received between March 1 and March 22 will be included in the placement lottery. Registration will remain open after the lottery for remaining seats.
From the Wellness Committee...Soup Season!
With temperatures in the 50's this week, it hardly feels like soup weather; however, it is still winter! Sharing a Spiced Roasted Butternut Squash Soup!
Centennial's Wellness Committee promotes student and staff wellness, focuses on the prevention of and reduction of childhood obesity, and assures that school meals and other food and beverages sold, and otherwise made available on the school campus during the school day, are consistent with applicable minimum local, state, and federal standards.
