SBA Spring Testing

Dear Families,


A reminder that this week, all students in Grades 6-8 will begin the Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA). The results from these tests will help us identify your student’s strengths, areas of growth and their readiness for the next step in their educational path. Students will take all parts of the assessment online. The math and language arts assessments are administered in two parts; a computer adaptive test (CAT) and a performance task (PT).


This week’s testing schedule:


Tuesday May 24- ELA CAT

Wednesday May 25- Math CAT

Thursday & Friday May 26 & 27- ELA Performance Task

(Wednesday June 1)


All students will take their assessments during a 2 hour morning assessment block beginning at 7:25.


Help your student be ready to “show what they know” by:

  • Helping them get to school on time. Being in the building by 7:20 will ensure that they are ready to begin their assessment promptly at 7:25.

  • Reminding students to charge their chromebook and/or bring their charger.

  • Bringing non-bluetooth headphones if they have them (we have spares if they don’t).

  • Encouraging students to do their best.
