Innovative Program Updates
It's been a busy, but good second week of school! At Perry, we made it through the very hot temperatures at the beginning of the week and are so glad to have cooler weather!
Today we kicked off our Raffle Ticket Fundraiser with an assembly at Perry. Thank you to PTO Board members Heather Laube and Lauren Teper for coming in to speak with students about the fundraiser. All Perry students should be bringing home an envelope of 15 tickets to sell. If students sell all 15 right away, they can pick up more from our office. Our fundraising goal is $30,000 and there are prizes for top sellers! BVL students in Grades K-8 should contact the BVL Office to either pick them up or have the tickets mailed to you. All proceeds from the raffle fundraiser go directly to our students - funding experiential learning opportunities such as field trips, camp, supplemental supplies, and more. All ticket stubs, funds, and any unsold tickets must be returned to one of our offices by Oct. 30. Thank you to Innovative Program PTO Vice Chair, Alexis McCarty for her work coordinating this fundraiser!
Next week is Grand Blanc Homecoming! Spirit week details can be found in the flyer posted further in this newsletter! BVL students are invited to join Perry students and staff for our Homecoming Assembly at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 15. Additionally, all students in our Innovative Programs are invited to help decorate our trailer after school at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 14 which will be parked near the Perry playground and ride or walk in the parade on Friday, Sept. 15 - please see details below!

* Click on “Apply for Benefits.”
* Fill out the form found at the APPLICATION button (for all PIC families)
Innovative Programs Robotics
We will be starting our robotics programs very soon, if we have coaches for our teams!
Grades 2-3: We desperately need coaches. The time commitment is about an hour per week after school. Each team has 6 students. No prior experience is needed.
Grades 4-5: We have two coaches - thank you to Mr. Kelly Toone and Mr. Scott Atkinson! A flyer will be sent home next week for 4th and 5th graders interested in robotics. Participants should plan to take on different responsibilities, work as a team, participate in presentations, and more.
Grades 6-8: Mr. Nick Clute serves as the coach for our 6th - 8th grade teams. Students in 6th - 8th grades interested in participating in Robotics should plan to attend a meeting on Friday, Sept. 8 at 6:30 p.m. at the Perry Center in Room 200.
If you are interested in coaching, please contact Amber Hall at ahall@gbcs.org. Training and support are provided as well as a small stipend for coaches time. This is a great way to be involved in our school and participate with your child!
