BCES News You Can Use
January 2024 Newsletter
What's Happening This Month:
Happy New Year and Welcome Back To School! I hope you enjoyed your Winter Break and holidays with your family and friends.
We have now entered a new calendar year. As 2024 starts, people always take the time to reflect on the year going out, determine areas of growth, set new goals, and make resolutions for the new year.
As we reflect here at BCES, we would like to share that we appreciate you allowing our faculty and staff to serve you and your family in 2023. 2023 was a wonderful year and we have so much to be grateful and thankful for at Bryan County Elementary School. We are determined to make 2024 even better as we continue our partnership with you and your family to finish out the school year strong. As we continue to push your child to reach their fullest academic potential, we look forward to partnering with you in this endeavor throughout the second semester.
We can't wait to see all of our students in the building on January 4, 2024. I would like to commend you for making attendance a top priority and getting your child to school during the month of December. You did a fabulous job, so let's keep the attendance momentum going for the new year. As an incentive, every student with perfect attendance during the month of January will be entered into a drawing for a school spirit shirt.
Progress reports and retention letters will be going home on Friday, January 5th.

Transportation Changes
TRANSPORTATION CHANGES
There are two approved methods for making transportation changes:
1. Send a note to the teacher. Include the address to go to, date, and parent's signature.
- Young students often forget to give notes to the teacher, so it is strongly recommended that you follow up with a call to the office (912-626-5033) to make sure we received the note.
2. Send a text message to 912-292-9315. Please include the studentโs full name and the new address they need to go to. PREFERRED METHOD
- Texts must come from a phone number you have registered with the school.
All messages must be received by 2:00 at the latest.
- Messages will be checked at 2:00 and you will receive a response from the school between 2:05-2:30.
- Between 2:05-2:30, the office will send a reply to your message that states: Message received. If you do not get a reply by 2:30, please call the school.
- This number is not a working telephone number and therefore does not receive phone calls. It only receives text messages
PLEASE REMEMBER THAT IF YOU ARE GOING TO SIGN YOUR CHILD OUT EARLY, YOU MUST BE AT SCHOOL BEFORE 2:30. IF NOT, YOU WILL HAVE TO UTILIZE THE CAR RIDER LINE.
WHY IS EARLY INTERVENTION IMPORTANT?
Why Is Early Intervention Important? Early Intervention provides support, resources, and services to young children diagnosed with, suspected of having, or being at risk of developmental delays. If you have concerns, please talk to your child's pediatrician. You can also contact Bryan County School's early intervention program and ask to have your little one evaluated to see if he/she has a developmental delay or disability.
