Advanced Placement School of Distinction - Schools with at least 20% of the total student population taking AP exams and at least 50% of all AP exams earning scores of 3 or higher
Advanced Placement Humanities - Schools with a minimum of five students testing in each of the following AP categories: one English course, two history/social science courses, one fine arts course and one world language course
Advanced Placement Humanities Achievement - AP Humanities schools (see above definition) with at least 50% of all AP Humanities exams earning scores of 3 or higher
Advanced Placement STEM - Schools with a minimum of five students testing in at least four AP STEM courses (AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, AP Statistics, AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Environmental Science, AP Physics 1, AP Physics 2, AP Physics C, AP Computer Science A, AP Computer Science Principles)

3rd Quarter PBL Showcases!
Coleman Middle School will be hosting our third quarter PBL (Project Based Learning) showcases during the months of February and March. Coleman students and teachers have been busy conducting their PBL launches in the last few weeks. Our students would appreciate your input and feedback on their final prototypes and projects on the dates and times listed below. Feel free to invite any of your colleagues to attend our events. I have included the grade level driving question along with the dates and times. Please follow the link below for the Google form to sign-up for the showcase prior to attending (this makes check-in move quickly).

Georgia Gwinnett College Summer STEM Programs
Student opportunity - University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine program
The University of Georgia’s College of Veterinary Medicine has created Ready, Vet, Go, a program for Georgia students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades who have an interest in veterinary medicine, animals, or science as a whole. The program is free for all participants and will be held at our veterinary teaching hospital on Saturday, April 25 from 9:00am to 1:30pm. UGA is currently accepting applications for our program through Friday, March 20.
Students must complete the attached recommendation form for this student. Lastly, they will have to complete our application online here https://ugeorgia.ca1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_823egl7SMEizN8F.
Both parts of the application must be received by Friday, March 20.
2nd Annual Duluth Cluster STEAM/STEM Expo - March 20
The second annual Duluth Cluster STEAM/STEM Expo will be held on Friday, March 20, 2020. This event will showcase student projects in STEAM and/or STEM from each of the seven Duluth cluster schools. The Expo will be held at Duluth High School from 5:30- 7 PM. Students are expected to be with their submission during the Expo.
Please have students submit science fair projects, PBL (project based learning) presentations, prototypes, inventions, art work, theatrical and musical performances, etc. from this school year - anything that is STEAM or STEM related that they would like to exhibit to the Duluth community.
