JANUARY 10, 2024 - NEWSLETTER
Hello Northpoint Families!
Toward the end of last week, we announced the semifinalists for Northpoint’s Got Talent. Not only did we celebrate those who are moving on to the next round but also all students who had the courage to participate! I told PTO on Monday night that I don’t think I could have ever created a video for the whole school to watch when I was in elementary school. For these students to step outside their comfort zones was really fun to see! We look forward to watching the live performances on February 2.
We’re starting to plan for the 2024-2025 school year around the district and here at Northpoint. Enrollment is open for next year’s in-coming Kindergarteners. We’ll host a family Kindergarten kickoff event on January 30, starting at 5:30 p.m. We’ll have a presentation at 6 p.m. for families. Feel free to share with your neighbors and friends. We welcome tour requests and are happy to answer any questions that may come up.
Fourth grade families will start to hear much more about the transition to Westwood for 5th grade. Please mark your calendars and plan to participate in upcoming events, whether online or in-person, to get the information you need for this transition. I have also invited a Westwood staff member to our next PTO meeting on February 5 to answer any questions and share the great things that are happening at Westwood and also how the Westwood experience sets the stage for what the high school has to offer.
It’s always bittersweet to see students transition from Northpoint to their next step, but Westwood is an amazing school, filled with amazing staff that will make the transition smooth. All of us want to make sure each family has answers to any questions they might have to make this a great experience.
Finally, please remember there is no school this upcoming Monday as we observe the federal holiday honoring Martin Luther King, Jr. School will resume Tuesday, January 16.
