MBAEA Media Newsletter
March 2023
I often have an extra spring in my step during March. With it comes extended daylight hours, beautiful sunshine, and basketball. Mike Krzyzewski, commonly known as Coach K., is among the all-time most outstanding NCAA men's coaches. He said teamwork is the beauty of our sport, where you have five acting as one.
Like basketball, educators are usually more successful and spirited, with a go-to team surrounding us. Please reach out if you need a 6th man off the bench for a breather and a brainstorming partner.

Developing Number Concepts by Kathy Richardson
Developing Number Concepts is designed to help young children develop important foundational mathematics concepts. The three instructional books and planning guide include cohesive and organized experiences focused on particular mathematical ideas. Every concept is developed both through teacher-directed and independent activities. Because children learn at different rates, the activities are "expandable," making it easy for teachers to differentiate their instruction. Developing Number Concepts is essential to any math instructional program and ideal for intervention use.
Activities from this series are aligned to the assessment results from Kathy Richardson's Assessing Math Concepts enabling teachers to target their instruction to the needs of each student.
- Book 1 – Counting, Comparing, and Pattern
- Book 2 – Addition and Subtraction
- Book 3 – Place Value, Multiplication, and Division
