Laptop Distribution
First block teachers will distribute laptops, charger cords, and cases. Students will sign one sheet of paper and make notations for any pre-existing damage. That sheet will come to the library. Students have a duplicate sheet to take home for parents.
Easily removable labels on each laptop show student email accounts. Teachers can further manage/reset student passwords here.

Laptop Care
- keep laptops clean and free of stickers or other decorations
- charge laptops each night so they are ready for classroom use
- store laptops in a safe place (in the cart, on a table, etc.)
Student Responsibilities
- bring the laptop to school, fully charged each day
- use the laptop for instructional purposes at school and in an appropriate manner and use good judgement online
- protect login information; do not share username and password
Accidental vs. Intentional Damage
Accidents do happen. There is a difference, however, between an accident and intentional damage. After investigation by school administration, if the device is deemed to be intentionally damaged by the student, the student may be subject to discipline and the cost of repair or replacement.
Lost or Stolen Laptops
If a laptop is lost or stolen, it should be reported to the Metro Nashville Police Department using the non-emergency number at (615) 862-8600. The police report number should be provided to the school immediately. School staff will remove the device from the student’s record and update in the Laptop Checkout System.
