Hello Falcon Family!

What a short week! I hope that your student(s) enjoyed the return to school. We are so happy to be back in the routine, and we have enjoyed hearing the stories from Winter Break.

This semeter will fly quickly, and we have several events coming soon. Tuesday, the 16th, Report Cards go home. In addition, we have an SIC and PTO meeting in the Media Center. SIC will meet at 5:30 and PTO will meet at 6:30. Please join us! Parking is on the car rider/Cherry Park side of the building.

An exciting event that we will be hosting is an Academic Night on January 24 to showcase activities and resources at Sullivan Middle, along with the opportunity to meet with teachers, faculty and staff! Please mark your calendars, and check out the informational flyer below.

Winter MAP testing will be the week of January 28; specifically the testing will be on the Tuesday and Thursday of that week.

We hope that all students enjoyed their free book over break! Please share what you read and complete the activity for your ELA teacher. Keep reading, Falcons!

Don't forget, Monday is a holiday for the annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Observance. The theme this year from The King Center is, "Shifting the Cultural Climate through the Study and Practice of Kingian Nonviolence." More can be found HERE. This year, the holiday falls on Dr. King's actual birthday!

Three of Sullivan Middle School students qualify for state!

Ka'shawn Busby (1st), Devan Erby (3rd), and Alesandro Aguirre (4th) attended the Clover Invitational on Saturday, January 13 and they will be headed to State next weekend in Lexington. Congratulations!!!

Overall, the team still has a few matches remaining this season, and the conference tournament will be January 27!

Tutoring

After school tutoring will resume the week of January 22nd. Tutoring will be from 3:45 to 5:00 Tuesday through Thursday. No sign up is necessary!

Uniform Donations

Families, please consider donating new or gently used uniform items including pants, shirts, and crewneck sweatshirts for our students who may be in need! Ms. Bostic, in our front office, will collect and store the items.

Hoodies versus Crewnecks

Please note, we will be phasing out hoodies over the course of this year. You may continue to wear Sullivan hoodies this year, however, Sullivan will begin selling only crewneck sweatshirts and in 2024-202 hoodies will not be allowed.
