Message from Principal Thill
Dear Jefferson Families:
Throughout the year, our school community is committed to recognizing and celebrating the rich tapestry of Black history, culture, and contributions. Our Jefferson Curriculum is designed to weave in diverse perspectives, ensuring that our students gain a comprehensive understanding of the world around them. From literature to social studies, music to art, we strive to provide a holistic education that reflects the diversity of our society.
As we enter the month of February, we are particularly excited to honor Black History Month. This is a time for us to amplify our focus on the accomplishments, contributions, and resilience of the Black community. We believe that by highlighting these stories and legacies, we not only educate our students about the past but also inspire them to shape a more equitable and inclusive future.
Throughout February, you can expect to see various initiatives and activities that celebrate Black culture and history. Our teachers will incorporate relevant lessons and discussions into their curriculum, providing students with opportunities to learn and reflect.
Please take an moment read one of the many stories in the Black History Children's Books Virtual Library below.

Somos Jefferson... ¡Mírenos lograrlo!
