WHAT IS MAPS?
The Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) are a set of computer-based assessments in reading, language usage, and mathematics that measure growth and performance. Each MAP test provides a single “snapshot” of students’ foundational skills and knowledge as they progress through grade levels. It is important to understand that each MAP is a single test at one point in time. MAP tests do not measure intelligence or a student’s capacity for learning, just the knowledge they have obtained thus far. The best way to support your student is to make sure they get a good night's rest and a hearty breakfast.

Dear Parent/Guardian:
We would like to offer your student the opportunity to participate in a program at Godwin Heights Middle School called “Hand2Hand”. This program helps provide students with food for the weekends and is intended for families who currently may be experiencing a financial burden. We would like to give your student the opportunity to participate beginning on Friday, September 15th.
Here’s how Hand2Hand will work: At the end of the week students who are signed up for the program will receive a minimum of 10 food items from the Hand2Hand pantry located on the school campus. These food items will be a combination of breakfast, snacks, lunch and/or dinner items. While the food items are meant for the student, they can be shared among the family as well. (Please note: if your student or another family member has food allergies it will be the responsibility of the parent/guardian to check the food your student brings home each week to ensure the food doesn’t contain ingredients which could cause an allergic reaction).
There is no cost to participate! However, if down the road you no longer need the assistance, simply write a note expressing your desire to discontinue receiving Hand2Hand and give this note to the school office. This opportunity is being provided by Gun Lake Community Church, 12200 W M179 Highway, Wayland, MI 49348. To learn more about Hand2Hand, please visit their website: http://h2hkids.org.
If you feel your student would benefit from this opportunity, please CLICK HERE to complete the Google Form response by Wednesday, September 13th and we will make sure that your student’s name is then added to the list. Your response will be kept confidential.
Sincerely,
Kim Urbanski
