December 6, 2023 - NEWSLETTER
Hello Northpoint Families!
Welcome to Trimester 2! We are excited to have students back more consistently after a couple longer breaks! During the trimester break for students, teachers spent time Friday and Monday working on documenting student learning progress from the first trimester. As we report on student progress aligned to academic and career and life competencies, families will receive more information than ever on where your child is at in their learning.
Because reporting in this way is new for teachers, they will be spending a little more time over the next week completing documentation to share with you before winter break on Monday, December 18. We are confident that this way of reporting will give you more in depth information about how your child is doing in school.
Not only are we kicking off Trimester 2 this week, but there are also many other things happening throughout the district.
- Live on 65 kicks off the winter celebrations with After Hours Big Band this Thursday, December 7 at 7 p.m. It’s an all-ages show featuring SLP dad Michael Pearson. The band will be joined by special guest Reed Grimm (season 11 American Idol). There are still tickets available.
Saturday is the Winter Market at Spring Lake Park High School which is always a fun event for all ages.
I hope to see you at one of these events or the many other activities that are happening in our Spring Lake Park Schools!
Tyler Nelson
Principal
