Scott Atkinson sat down with Rockland Works Coordinator of Business and Employer Services Rich Gore to discuss interview tips and what Edison Home Health Care seeks in a strong candidate.

Q) What do you look for in a job seeker during an interview?

A)What I look for in the ideal candidate is a few different attributes. I always try to gage if the candidate is caring, outgoing, responsible, and trustworthy enough to be a caregiver taking care of a family's loved ones.

Q) What are some of the key value propositions of your brand which employees need to reflect?

A)The key value propositions for Edison is that we ask caregivers to reflect on the importance of loyalty and trust. All caregivers are asked to reflect on these because that is what is going to grow the caregiver's relationship with the client and hopefully make for a long tenured case and employee relationship.

Q) What are some of the paths for a candidate to grow with Edison?

A)With Edison we give the opportunity & tools for all employees to grow. Some caregivers can go on and take courses to advance their career by taking classes to become a LPN and then an RN. Caregivers also have a pathway to grow internally with Edison. Caregivers can apply for internal positions such as a Coordinator, HR rep, Marketer, etc. All employees are given a pathway to shine and grow with Edison.
