June 14, 2023
From the desk of Principal Micki Darling
The 6th graders will be graduating this week. The ceremony is Wednesday, June 14th at 9:30 am outside. This feisty group of 6th graders will be heading to various Middle Schools and bringing all of their Pelham kindness to each school. Our hope is that you remember what you have learned about how to be a good human, as well as how to find equivalent fractions. They are in the unique position of bringing all of their "Let's Talk" knowledge and civic literacy toward making a more positive future. They have learned to affirm every person in their truth and beauty. Pelham students and staff know and understand ourselves and our community more deeply.
We have had so many different celebrations recently. We had Field Day, Art Show, Instrumental and Band Concert, Field Trips, and individual classroom celebrations. Kindergarten will have it's Space Day outside, this Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 pm. It promises to be an out of this world experience!
While there is so much unknown for the district at this moment, what I can tell you is that we remain focused on the students and their well being. I want to take this opportunity to thank the Pelham Staff for their hard work, dedication and passion. Teaching is not easy! Hopefully, the staff will be spending their summers relaxing and revitalizing - maybe even creating imaginary cities in their backyards - reinvigorated for the 2023-2024 school year!
My summer includes a couple of trips to the mountains and ocean with my husband and three boys (20, 18, 16), as well as preparing for the coming year. If you have any questions or ideas for our amazing school, please reach out!

Helping a local dog rescue
I am a 6th grader at Pelham Elementary School who is working towards helping Better Together Dog Rescue help make a better, happier life for their dogs, and my classmates and I would more than appreciate your help. We will have 2 donation boxes, one in front of the school, and one in front of our classroom. In our boxes, we are collecting donations of puppy pads, treats, nylabones/ benebones, used towels, and used fleece towels. We would appreciate your help. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Maseo
