Woodland Elementary Weekly Notes
Message from the Principal
Dear Woodland Families,
We are now a few weeks into the Spring semester and our learners have continued to do great things. The first half of the school year went quickly, and was full of learning and growth for our students. The second semester has brought us warmer weather and I would be happy if it stuck around!
There are so many individuals who help make Woodland great and I would like to give a special “shout out” to two specific groups who work “behind the scenes.” First of all, we appreciate our lunch and recess supervisors so much for helping to keep our kids safe, and for building relationships with them that mean a lot. The group of fantastic people we have watching our kids continues to build strong relationships, and you can tell each day how much they enjoy being with them during this social time of day. Thank you to each of you for your important role at our school.
I would also like to give a special thank you to our paraprofessional team at Woodland. Whether serving our kids in the LMC, or in the regular or special education setting, our crew is the best! The teaching, relationship building, support for learning, and impact on our entire school is indescribable. We have a number of paraprofessional staff who support our kids in some way, and each day I am blown away by the care and passion they have for your children. These paraprofessionals work “behind the scenes” and we could not have the success we have without them. Simply stated, our paraprofessional team is comprised of difference makers!
As we head into the Spring semester, teachers are busy analyzing MAP data, along with their own classroom data to adjust learning plans for their classes and students. If you have questions about your child’s progress this year, please reach out to their teacher. We value our communication with you as we know what an impact this can have on learning and development. I encourage you to communicate on any questions or concerns you have as you know your children best, and those questions are important to us.
Thank you for your continued support of Woodland Elementary School. As always, my door is open and I welcome you to email or call anytime that you have questions, comments, or concerns. Take care and thanks again for your continued support!
Go Wolves!
