News and Notes
Tomorrow, October 24th, we will be participating in the ASVAB/PSAT/MBT for our underclassmen and implementing a digital learning day for our seniors. 9th-11th graders will report to campus as usual to participate in the PSAT/ASVAB/Monica Burr Training. 12th graders will not report to campus and will engage in digital learning activities from home, to include a Common App Writing prompt which will be loaded and submitted through each students’ respective advisors google classroom; students’ submission is required for attendance purposes. For 12th graders participating in digital learning, please ensure they have the necessary technology.
With the end of October here, we are into the 2nd Nine Weeks and tracking towards a successful end of Semester 1. I would continue to check in on the progress of your child by reviewing PowerSchool to have an understanding of where your child is academically this semester. With a sprint toward Thanksgiving with a multitude of activities and events, the time is most certainly now.
As we end this week, we welcome the concluding weeks for many of our Fall based sports/clubs to include but not limited to: JRTOC Raiders, Band, Cross Country, Football, Cheerleading, Volleyball, Etc. This time of year also welcomes the start of many Fall/Winter Sports with tryouts for Basketball and Wrestling underway this week.
Multiple options for engagement at RHHS this week. Tomorrow night we host a college and career fair in the East Cafeteria from 6-7:30pm. In addition, join us Wednesday for exciting Elite Eight action as the Volleyball team takes on North Cobb at home, let's pack #ouRHouse beginning at 5pm. Furthermore, football takes on Lowndes County HS as we look to become playoff eligible at home, followed by our First Annual Band Competition right here at RHHS on Saturday - set to be a great event with the likes of your very own RHHS performing as well as the Georgia Southern Marching Band!
