Hello, My name is Dana Green and I work with students with the last names SH-Z. I absolutely LOVE my LSN North Counseling Family and all of you amazing students! Now is a pivotal time of the year for all students as you will begin shifting your mindset towards preparing for next school year. With Spring Enrollment Conferences approaching, here are some tips you will want to keep in mind.
Freshman- your GPA MATTERS!!! Please take your classes and your grades seriously right now. How you perform now can impact your ability to receive some scholarships and participate in programs down the road. In addition to your core classes, take classes that are of interest to you. Maybe you love to draw, or possibly want to be a business owner or Physical Therapist one day. Use your electives to explore classes of interest. You will also discover that you will be more successful in classes you enjoy!
Sophomores- Now is the time to be preparing for future programs and endeavors and taking the prerequisites you need to prepare for those programs and endeavors. As Juniors, you will want to begin preparing for ACT/SAT PSAT/Pre-ACT assessments. There will be college Fairs, and Career fairs that you can participate in. You also will be able to apply to some career programs offered through the district. Your GPA MATTERS!!! Stay focused!!! Ask Questions!! Learn about your options!!
Juniors-You have arrived at the moment in your school career where, life after high school is your primary focus for Spring Enrollment Conferences. You and your parent/guardian will want to make sure you are on track to graduate on time, plan for early college, career center programs, internships, work programs as well as determining what is needed to qualify for scholarships, locking down college entry requirements etc. Plan now so your Senior year is smooth as silk!! Yes it is a lot, but no need to stress because your Guidance Counselors, Mentors, College/Scholarship Navigator, and teachers are all here to Help! Ask Questions!!! Do your research!!! Enjoy the journey!!
Stop by the Counseling Center at your convenience to schedule a time to meet with us if the need arises! Looking forward to working with you soon! Go Broncos!
