This week students leaders and a few HSSL staff member went out to promote our school at High School Fairs at M.S. 61 and I.S. 285 (Meyer Levin). The kids did any amazing job at speaking to prospective students and representing our school.
Special shout out to the MS. 61 Team - Ms. Celestin, student leaders: Kristopher Brothers, Johora Zeba, Fayzan Bhatti, and Lelani Moore-Martinez.

π¦π Halloween Dance π¦π
Just a reminder if you are volunteering for the dance:
- Decorating: Please report to the school by 12pm Friday October 27th ask for Mx. Craig at the security desk.
- Chaperones: Please report by 2:30pm
- Food Donations: Please send them with your child the morning of or sent in no later than 12pm
β©οΈπΈπ₯π Anime Hour ππΈπ₯β©οΈ
Last week was the first "Anime Hour" a monthly lunch club where students and staff can get together and watch their favorite Anime movies. Students with 90% or better daily attendance recieved free popcorn.This month feature presentation was the classic studio Ghibili film "Spirited Away". We will continue this next month but opening up the club to other film genres.

The Citywide Leadership Team (CLT) cordially invites you to the 2nd Annual Legislative Conference on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at 9am. Please see the flyer attached, and make sure to register.
Now that the Chancellor has delivered the "State of the Schools," we are continuing to build on this momentum by bringing together other City, State, and Federal Legislators, DOE Affiliated Unions, Agencies, Parents, and Community Leaders to prepare for the Legislative Session in January. The aim is to list our priorities so every NYC Public School Student can have direct and equitable access to high quality education.

The purpose of Red Ribbon week is to present a visible commitment to living a safe, healthy and drug-free life. The campaign is designed to create awareness concerning the problems related to the use of tobacco, alcohol, and other drugs and to support the decision to live drug-fee lifestyle.
