Hathershaw Highlights
Fortnightly newsletter for parents - December 2022

Welcome to the first edition of our online newsletter. Here you'll be able to keep up to date with the happenings at Hathershaw. This newsletter includes key events of the fortnight, things to look out for in the upcoming weeks, and useful information for parents and carers.
Things to celebrate
It has been a busy half term, with lots going on in and out of school.
- Year 7 & 8 held their MiSST assemblies for parents and carers, showcasing their talent and all the skills they've learnt in music so far. Read more about the harmonious event here.
- We had visitors from Prison Me No Way in school discussing life choices with year 9. Students took part in a range of workshops and were made aware of local crime and the dangers of risky life choices. Read more about the event here.
- We're delighted to announce that our very own, Mrs Lott (English teacher and Sustainability Lead) is now officially Carbon Literate! This is a huge achievement and we look forward to the increase in sustainability across school.
- As the term comes to an end, we understand students feel less motivated to come to school. In a bid to change this, we've started the 100% attendance challenge. Students that are in school every day of the week will be in for a chance to win some spectacular prizes! Last week's winners won vouchers towards their leaver's hoodie and the end of year trip.
