SEAS Faith Formation

A Note from Driskill's Desk
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
We pray you had a wonderful time with your family during the Christmas season!
As we begin ordinary time, there is nothing “ordinary” about the fantastic things happening in our Faith Formation program! Our catechists are developing a wonderful relationship with your children as well as helping them learn to walk with God.
Another part of our Faith Formation program is our Children’s Mass. We encourage your family to attend the 10am Children’s Mass in the Faith Formation Youth Center. If your child would like to participate in the children’s liturgy by reading or bringing up the gifts, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s coordinator or ask one of us at mass, or use the sign up genius. If your child would like to sing during Mass, we invite them to come up and join the choir!
This month our elementary students will celebrate their First Reconciliation. Please pray for them as they receive this beautiful sacrament for the first time.
Once again, thank you for all your support of our SEAS Faith Formation program. We pray you have a blessed year, full of joy!
For the most up to date information on our programs, please subscribe to flocknote, view the TVs in the building, check our website, or check out the links for our social media at the bottom of the newsletter.
God Bless,
Mrs. Driskill

Elementary Faith Formation
January 4 was the Feast of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. Did you know that St. Elizabeth Ann Seton helped to plant the seeds for Catholic schools in the United States? I love that she is the patron saint of our Faith Formation program! St. Elizabeth Ann Seton loved the Catholic faith and loved working with children to share the joys of the church.
If you want to learn more about her life and see a few activities for children, check out the below links.
Archdiocese Safe Environment Protocols
In the month of November, our Faith Formation programs will be going over some safe environment and boundary topics with our students. Each program coordinator will provide you with more information on specifics.

Safety Procedures
The safety of our students, families, volunteers, and staff is a top priority for our Faith Formation Ministry. It is important to us that parents feel comfortable and confident while their children attend classes at SEAS. We take several steps to ensure we are providing a safe environment for all.
Each of our volunteers and all of the staff are required to take Safe Environment Trainings. Our Good Shepherd and Elementary students must be picked up from their classroom to guarantee that they leave with a trusted adult. You will also notice that we have a police officer on site during each class session.
To help with safety measures, we ask that parents read the below handbook provided by the Archdiocese of San Antonio.
