Meet and Greet
Thursday, August 31st
2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Our Open House will be on Thursday, August 31st from 2:30-3:30. This is a great opportunity for your child to meet his/her teacher and see the new classroom. Suggested activities for this event are:
- Practice walking from the front door of the school to the homeroom.
- For first and second graders, visit the bathroom and review how to independently and appropriately use the facility.
- Practice walking home if your child is a walker.
Parking may pose challenges. The open grass fields that surround the exit area are available if needed.
Please note that this is a brief visit to the school for families. Each year, we encounter challenges accommodating all vehicles in the parking lot, and there can be less challenges if families keep their visit short and/or arrive at 3:00.
Also, the staff and I ask that families visit only with their current teacher. The teachers want to make themselves available as much as possible to speak with new students and their families. I’m sure that the teachers would love to catch up with former students, but this is a time for meeting with current teachers only. Thanks for your help!

Dentals and Physicals:
Per Pennsylvania state requirements, the health office requires a current physical examination form and dental form for all new incoming students. Physical exams are also required for all students entering 6th grade and dental exams are required for all students entering 3rd grade. I am happy to accept any exam completed as early as July 1, 2022 per regulations. These state forms can be found at crsd.org or in the health office.
Medication Drop-Off:
If your child requires medication during the school day, please print out a district Permission to Medicate form which can be found at crsd.org. This form needs to be completed by the doctor and signed by a parent and completed each school year. An adult must bring all medications to/from school. Medication must be in the original pharmacy container with the original label attached. Please also have your students doctor complete the Asthma Action Plan and/or Anaphylaxis Action Plan if specific to their needs. Medication can be dropped off on 8/31/2023 from 8:30 am – 4:00 pm or beginning on 9/5/2023 during regular student hours.

WES Student-Parent Handbook
We encourage parents to review the revised Parent-Student handbook with their child(ren). This is optimal for families new to the school, but it's also a ideal way to have students get back into "school mode."
There are specific areas that would benefit a review with children before the start of the school year. These areas include policies involving:
- Birthdays
- Cell Phones
- Computer Usage Policy
- Forgotten Items
- Sneakers
- Dress and Grooming
- School Rules and Expectations
You can view the revised handbook at the button below.

Meowsterpieces
Families are invited to email a picture of their pet(s) to the art teacher at mmiguelez@crsd.org for a fun in class pet portrait display! Please share your pets names in the email. Thank you!
Free Breakfast Program
Council Rock will be offering free breakfast to all enrolled students at the elementary and middle school levels for the 2023-2024 school year.
What you need to know:
- No sign-up is required.
- Daily breakfast menus will be available on our menus website.
- Students enter their lunch ID number and get breakfast in the cafeteria upon arrival at school.
- Breakfast will be pre-bagged and have an optional milk and fruit selection.
The protocol for WES will be that children may pick up the bagged breakfast in the cafeteria upon arrival to school on their way to their homeroom. Students will use their lunch ID when picking up the breakfast, and then they will eat in their homeroom. Issues may arise with disruptions to our morning classroom routines or creating excessive messes in classes. We will address these needs as we begin the program, and, if needed, we will make changes as to where the students will eat their breakfast. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have questions.
School Lunch Information
This year, the prices of lunch and milk will remain the same. The price is $2.85 for the entrée and $0.55 for milk.
When sending money in for lunch, please be sure the money is in a sealed envelope with the student name and teacher.
Also, the menus are not yet available, but I will provide this information to families soon. Please contact the cafeteria manager at WESCafeteria@crsd.org if you have any questions.
