We continue to engage students in learning and fun with the kick off of our annual APEX Leadership & Fundraising Program beginning Monday! Be sure to have your child(ren) dress in blue and orange for our kick-off assembly Monday, February 12th. Your school tax credit donations can provide our students with a variety of experiences that are not provided through federal and state funds. Legend Springs tax credit funds are typically used to support our special area programs AND fund our All Things E.Q. social emotional learning program. We truly appreciate you supporting our school!
The Arizona tax credit program (A.R.S. 43-1089.01) allows a tax credit of up to $200 for individuals and up to $400 for married couples, filing jointly, in support of extracurricular activities.
The tax credit reduces your tax burden to the state of Arizona, dollar for dollar.
In order to take advantage of the tax credit donation for the 2023 tax year, you must make your donation by April 15, 2024.
Your tax credit goes directly to the school you choose, not to the state or district. .
K-6, K-8 and Middle Schools: Tax credits can be submitted online by clicking here

READ THE STATE OF THE DISTRICT FROM DR. FINCH
DVUSD STATE OF THE DISTRICT
Dr. Finch, DVUSD's Superintendent, recently released the annual DVSUD State of the District. The address is designed to mirror the governor’s State of the State for Arizona and the presidential State of the Union to keep you informed on the challenges, progress, growth, and accomplishments of DVUSD students and staff. These state and national civic addresses are designed to reflect upon what is going well, what areas need additional focus, and what the future may hold; this document is no different. The start of the calendar year is a great window to look forward and reflect back as we finish up one school year and make plans for the next.

We will take the feedback given on this survey, review the results, and take action on what our parents and community members have to say.
Plan Ahead for 2024 Summer Programs in DVUSD
Medicaid Consent for Billing Claiming Open Care
You may have received an email communication on December 15, 2023, from the District regarding Medicaid School Based Claiming (MSBC); this is not a spam email.
MSBC has now expanded to include Open Care billing which includes billing for services that were not previously covered. This may include students who are on IEPs, 504s, medical plans and/or students who are not on IEPs or 504s. Open Care could include hearing and vision screenings that are provided by medical professionals, for example. DVUSD does not know which families/students are covered by Medicaid; therefore, the District will periodically send an email to solicit electronic signatures for approval to bill for Medicaid- eligible billing. As always, this does not affect your insurance. As a part of District outreach, DVUSD is often involved in informing families of their potential eligibility for Medicaid and is required through MSBC.

BEFORE + AFTER CARE NEED HELP!
The DVUSD Community Education Department is hiring! Full and part time positions are available in our before and after programs as well as preschools.
Our Before & After Care program is required to follow DES guidelines for student-to-staff ratios. If we do not have enough employees, we cannot accept more students, impacting AM/PM care options for families.
If you are interested in working part-time (either AM, PM or BOTH), please contact Dina.Sands@dvusd.org or go to careers.dvusd.org to apply.
