Field Hockey
The Methacton Field Hockey Team ended their season on Tuesday with a hard-fought game against a skilled Emmaus team. As this was the third year in a row meeting Emmaus in the State playoff tournament. The team entered the game hungry for a win and with hopes of knocking out the Hornets in the first round of the playoffs for the first time since 2001.
After Emmaus took a 1-0 lead in the first quarter, the Warriors responded in the third quarter with a corner goal scored by Elena Weychert, assisted by Lea DeWan. Then in the fourth quarter, Methacton took the lead when Lea DeWan scored another corner goal, this time assisted by Renee Blake. After a late tying goal late in the fourth quarter, the game went into overtime where Emmaus scored the game winning goal with 7:33 left on the clock.
The varsity field hockey team ended their season with a record of 19-5-1, another outstanding performance by the players throughout the season. The coaches would like to thank all the parents for their continued support throughout the season and the players for all of their hard work and dedication to the team throughout the season. Special thank you goes to the 8 seniors who lead the team through the successful conclusion of the season.
