Willow Parent Bulletin #19

I hope you will consider participating in our MLK Day of Service on Monday. Willow has partnered with the South Suburban Humane Society. We wanted to associate with a place that would be easy for our students to relate. Please refer to their need list below. Donations can be dropped off at James Hart on Monday between 9 and 12.

February has the federal designation of being Black History Month. As a staff, we have ongoing discussions about black history being interwoven into our everyday curriculum and experience.

One of the most famous quotes from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr is, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?'” I hope you'll keep that in mind as we honor him on Monday.

Each year the state of Illinois asks parents to complete a survey called the 5 Essentials. It's your opportunity to let us know how you feel Willow is doing and where we need to improve. We usually have you complete this during Parent-Teacher conferences, but like everything else this year, the timing is a little bit off.

Please give 15 minutes to let us know how to make Willow a better place for present and future wildcats!

Sapo y Sepo Son Amigos is the Spanish version of Frog and Toad are Friends written by Arnold Lobel. The five stories follow the two friends on their adventures. This is a wonderful addition to our bilingual collection. West Chicago, Lyons and Berwyn Public Libraries all have this available for check out.
