PRAYER
"Father God, we thank you for these graduating students. We pray that you will give them direction, purpose, and perseverance as they enter the next phrase of their lives. Give them clearness of mind to move forward into the plans and purposes that you have for them.
May these young people gain wisdom from You and have discernment for proper behavior. Raise up Christian mentors for these graduates so they have someone who holds them accountable for their actions.
We pray that they will rise above ungodly behaviors and have the boldness to stand up for what is right wherever they work, study, or socialize. Give them wisdom to spend their time and money wisely. Grant them success for their efforts at every turn and guide their feet to follow your ways.
May they be eager to do good and not evil all the days of their lives. Use them in might ways, Dear Father. In Jesus name, amen.
FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parents/Guardians,
It is hard to believe that tonight we say farewell to our 8th graders. We celebrate with the Graduation Mass and passing out of diplomas. We will miss our 8th graders as they move onto their next phase of life.
We had a very successful 8th grade trip to Washington DC last week. The students gain so much from such a field trip. We were privileged to meet with Congresswoman Speier who spoke at length with the students and parents. The congresswoman has ties to All Souls as it is where she attended Religious Education classes when she was a child.
Staffing:
Recently Miss Nasser informed me that she will not be returning back to All Souls as she has taken a position in a school which is closer to where she lives. Miss Nasser has served our community for seven years and we all will miss her.
I am pleased to announce that we have filled all the position openings for the next school year:
Grade One: Ms. Allison Castro comes with a Bachelor's of Arts in Psychology and a Masters of Arts in Teaching. She has taught in 1st grade as well as in 3rd grade. Allison has a flare for dance and for the creative side of things. Allison is a caring teacher who develops positive relationships with the people she encounters.
Grade Four: Ms. Aimee Rose Marsh comes with a Bachelor's of Science in Sociology and currently completely her Masters. She has previously worked at St. Matthew's School as a substitute teacher in Kindergarten and first grade. She is a very organized and hard working teacher who puts the students first and foremost.
Grade Seven: Mr. Jordan Grout, comes with experience teaching at a charter school and is looking forward to teaching in a Catholic School. He is passionate about writing and will be a great addition to the Junior High team with the writing program. He will also be the home room teacher for seventh grade and teaching language arts.
Substitute Teacher for Grade Five: While Mrs. Lucchesi is on maternity leave, Mr. Trevor Theurer will be taking the fifth grade homeroom, teaching social studies/history to 5th - 8th grade and language arts to the fifth graders. Mr. Theurer has had extensive experience teaching in Japan and comes to us with a Bachelor's degree in history.
As the year comes to a close, I am happy it has been a wonderful year for all. The children have grown so much this year in many ways. They have learned so much from their teachers in so many different subjects. Many children have excelled with their studies, and I am so proud of them. While there are some difficulties for some children we always have been able to work out the differences.
In the annual report you will read the many achievements of the students from the year. The annual report is available at the beginning of next school year.
End of Year Financials:
A reminder to those families who may be behind with tuition payments or other fees that these need to be paid by Thursday, June 8th. In the event these monies are not paid, we are unable to give out report card and the yearbook. It is important that all monies due are paid so that we have enough revenue to cover the summer payroll and for the establishment of new resources for the following year.
Tuition 2017 - 2018
Tuition for the new school year begins July 2017. We will be moving away from TADS to SchoolSpeak tuition payment. Therefore keep an eye open for this change.
God Bless,
Vincent Riener
Principal
