There is a lot coming up at LVMS the next few weeks. Please review the information below carefully to not miss any important information!


Thursday, April 27th is "Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day". If your child(ren) plan to participate, please indicate this in PickUp Patrol (more information below).


Please take a moment to review our Student Drop Off / Pick Up Procedures. As a reminder, parents should not enter the staff parking lot or the bus lane during PM Pick Up. Students will not be permitted to cross through the bus lane at any point. All vehicles must go up the driveway to the gravel lot and wait for buses to exit the bus lane before moving into driveway that loops in front of the building. Thank you for adhering to these safety guidelines!


Starting next week students will begin taking the New Jersey Student Learning Assessment (NJSLA). Please click here for the LVMS Testing Schedule and Daily Bell Schedule. More information can also be found by CLICKING HERE.

24TH ANNUAL PHOTO CONTEST: Sponsored by the Long Valley Junior Women's Club, 2023 will be the start of the 24th annual LVJWC Middle School Photo Contest. DEADLINE EXTENDED! See below for more information.


TAKE OUR DAUGHTERS AND SONS TO WORK DAY 2023: Thursday, April 27th is National Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day. Please see 4/11/23 Community Update from Dr. Turnamian with additional information. If you plan to have your child participate, this will be required to be submitted to PickUp Patrol.


UPCOMING NJSLA TESTING DATES: For all state testing information, please see 2022-23 School Year District Assessment Calendar from Mrs. Deborah Russ, Director of Curriculum & Instruction.

NJSLA Mathematics: Grades 6-8: May 2nd - 4th

NJSLA ELA: Grades 6-8: May 9th - 10th

NJSAL Science: Grade 8: May 11th -12th


MUSICAL INSTRUMENT DRIVE: Girl Scout Troop 89 is hosting a musical instrument drive. You can donate new or used instruments to improve the LVMS orchestra and band programs. Also accepted are: lightly used music books, shoulder rests, tuners, and other musical supplies. Currently, there are collection bins in both the LVMS vestibule and the Washington Township Library until April 28th.


INCOMING 6TH GRADE ORIENTATION: Please see the 4/21/23 Community Letter from Mr. Ippolito inviting all current 5th grade families to LVMS for a parent orientation!

Pick Up Patrol Reminder - Walkers / Parent Pick Up

As we are finally seeing consistently warmer weather, we are seeing a rise in our number of student "walkers" after school. Please remember the following important procedures for students that wish to walk after the school day:



  • Any student NOT taking the bus, parents MUST submit a change to PickUp Patrol by 2:00 PM. (this is not required at this time for after school clubs / sports)
  • When parents submit to PickUp Patrol they will receive a confirmation email of their change / submission. If you do not receive a confirmation email and this change listed in your account, it has not be submitted. Please be sure you receive a confirmation email.
  • Students that are not listed on the walking or parent pick up list will be required to take the bus. For safety purposes, emails, phone calls, or other notifications will not be accepted.
  • Student athletes will be required to be picked by parent or carpool after practices / games. Students will not be permitted to walk after sport events. Specific questions can be directed to coaches.

DEADLINE EXTENDED! Deadline to submit pictures is Monday, May 1st by 3:30 PM

LVMS 2022-23 Yearbook

Did you miss out on ordering a yearbook? Extras will be available for sale on a first come first serve basis. Yearbooks are $38 each (please make checks payable to LVMS). Please see Ms. Denny or Mrs. Burke for more information. There are a limited supply available, so act fast if interested!

The boys and girls track teams will have their first meet of the season when they visit Morristown High School this afternoon.


Practice on Tuesday is only for sprinters and long distance runners.


Practice on Wednesday is only for throwers and jumpers.
