Check-Outs - Final Exams
To ensure that all students have the opportunity to perform their best on their exams, there will be no student check-outs allowed during the final exam window. This procedure is necessary to minimize disruptions and maintain the integrity of the testing process. We understand that unexpected circumstances can arise, but we kindly request that appointments and other obligations be scheduled outside of this critical period. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter.
This week we continue our final exams, please see the exam schedule above. Here are a few things to remember:
- Charge your Chromebook the night before. Bring your charger just in case your Chromebook needs a charge throughout the day.
- Get a good night's sleep: Ensure you have a restful sleep the night before the test. Aim for 7-8 hours of sleep to feel refreshed and focused in the morning.
- Wake up early: Give yourself enough time in the morning to avoid rushing. Waking up early allows you to have a calm and relaxed start to your day.
- Eat a nutritious breakfast: Fuel your brain with a healthy breakfast containing protein, whole grains, and fruits or vegetables. Avoid heavy or greasy foods that may make you feel sluggish.
- Review key information: Quickly review key concepts or notes related to the test material. Focus on main ideas, formulas, or important details to refresh your memory.
- Practice deep breathing or meditation: Take a few minutes to engage in deep breathing exercises or meditation to calm your mind and reduce test anxiety.
- Avoid last-minute cramming: Trying to learn new information right before the test can be overwhelming and may lead to confusion. Trust in the preparation you have done and focus on a positive mindset instead.
- Double-check test materials: Before leaving for the test, ensure you have all the necessary materials, such as pens, pencils, erasers, calculators, or any other items required. This helps avoid unnecessary stress.
- Use the restroom: Take a quick restroom break before the test begins. This minimizes distractions and helps you stay focused during the exam.
- Stay positive and confident: Maintain a positive attitude and believe in your abilities. Positive self-talk can boost your confidence and help you perform better during the test.
GCPS Chromebooks
Parents and students, we need your assistance! To perform necessary maintenance, we will collect all Chromebooks before students depart for the summer break, ensuring they are in optimal condition for the next school year.
- Seniors are required to turn in their Chromebook, charger, and bag after their last exam; if exempt from exams, these items were due on Thursday, May 18, or immediately following their final required exam (whichever period applies).
- Graduation tickets will only be distributed once all outstanding Chromebooks, chargers, bags, or any additional expenses have been settled.
- For all other students, please turn in your Chromebook, charger, and bag after your last exam on Wednesday, May 24; teachers will maintain a sign-in sheet with your name and number to guarantee that you receive the same equipment when school resumes in August.
- For students requiring their Chromebook during summer school or credit recovery, we will ensure it is available for check-out before the summer session commences, providing seamless access to necessary learning resources.
