Gate Procedures - Arrival/Dismissal
Monday, August 12th, is the first day of school. Parents will not be allowed to walk their child to their classroom door on the first day of school. There will be staff available with class lists ready to assist students find their classrooms. Please ensure you have a designated location to pick up your child(ren) at dismissal. All students are dismissed to the bus loop for BCPS bus riders or front of the school for walkers, bike riders, car riders, and private transportation beginning at 3:55 pm.
Parents, please have your ID’s ready when you arrive to the gate during visiting hours (9:40 am – 3:30 pm) and state your purpose for the visit to the security at the gate. You will also be asked to show your ID again once you get to the front door. We thank you for your patience and cooperation.
Unified Dress Code & IDs
Students IDs will be distributed the first week of school. If your child still has their ID from last year, we are asking that they wear that ID until they receive their new ID. We understand if your child no longer has their previous ID and will be working on distributing IDs as soon as possible.
This week all students received their ID with a lanyard. IDs must be worn around their neck at all times for safety and security purposes. If the student defaces their ID then a new ID will need to be purchased for $5 through the estore. Any issues or concerns please contact Mr. Kocis.

Wireless Device Use Not Permitted During School Day
The School Board of Broward County is proud to be an “A” Rated School District and is taking an important step to elevate student learning by providing a distraction-free environment. Starting this year, during the school day, students will Disconnect to Reconnect.
Effective this year, the use of wireless devices during the school day, including passing periods and lunchtime, is not permitted.
All wireless communication devices must be powered off or in airplane mode from bell to bell. Cell phones, laptops, headphones, smartwatches and all other wireless devices must be turned off unless directed otherwise by a school employee for instructional purposes.
As students and families adjust to this standard, the first two weeks of school, August 12-23, 2024, will serve as a grace period during which students can understand the new policy without disciplinary consequences. The Wireless Communication Devices Policy will be implemented and enforced beginning Monday, August 26, 2024.
