April 17-21, 2023
From the Principal's Office
Your Achievers have worked very hard over the last few months to prepare for these exams, and we are excited to give them the opportunity to show up and show out!
Please read on for important information, and be sure to share this newsletter with 3 other families so that everyone is in the know!
Warmly,
Principal Manning
PS: Check out this week's video selection! Where were YOU when this song was out??
SBAC and Breakfast begins tomorrow at 8:30AM
Students will have the option of a regular school breakfast (cereal, milk, fruit), and also a hot breakfast which includes scrambled eggs, bacon, oatmeal, and orange juice.
Breakfast will begin at 8:30 am sharp. The hot breakfast option will close at 8:55am, so that testing can begin by 9:00.
Please make sure your scholar arrives on time each day so that they may join in our community breakfast and affirmations to begin our day.
Excellent Attendance Party (April 28, 2023)

See you there!
Morning Drop Off (reminder)
Gentle reminders:
-the orange cones are set by 8:10 every morning and remain set until 8:40am.
-the drop off point is at the corner of Oakdale and Keith Streets for Carver students in grades K-5. Our crossing guard and security support personnel are there every morning to assist children with crossing the streets safely.
-our Pre-K families of Leola Havard are permitted to drive through Oakdale and down the ramp to the Leola Havard main entrance. This is because of the intake policies with early education centers. PK students must be escorted and signed-in by their parent/guardian.
-If your child has a special circumstance (crutches, wheelchair bound), please let us know so that we may accommodate him/her accordingly. (415-330-1540)
-finally, we wish to maintain high levels of mutual respect between our staff and families. While we understand and appreciate that morning drop-off can get a bit tense, we have these procedures in place in order to to ensure the safety of our students, and to respect the residential neighbors near our school (neighbors have voiced concerns over cars that block driveways, double park, or speed down Oakdale Street). You can support and assist us by following the directions of the crossing guard and security personnel, and by using respectful and courteous language toward our team, especially in the presence of childrens' listening ears. This is how a village comes together for the greater good of the children and the community.
