Dear Lakeview Families,
A big shout out to two Watch D.O.G.S. This week. Thank your Brad Weinke for having a watchful eye at our site and students on Thursday, and Zac Campbell on Friday. Please consider volunteering for PTA or WATCH D.O.G.S. to help us whenever you can fit it in your schedule. Here is the NPS Volunteer Website link where you can sign up as a Lakeview volunteer.
Our hallways were decorated this week with so many amazing and clever Student Council Campaign posters. Our students did a great job getting up in front of their peers to deliver their thoughtful campaign speeches. We may have some future politicians here at Lakeview. I hope you enjoy the many photos of the posters and learning process. Congratulations to all who ran this year. Congratulations to the following 4th and 5th grade students:
President: Jessi Davis; Vice President: Emilie Nichols; Secretary: Isabella Lopez; Treasurer: Catina McKnight
5th Representative (Johnson): Elijah Mahoney; (McKinney):Carlos Garcia; 5th ALTERNATE (as needed): Allisyn Inman, Andrew Teuscher
4th Representative (Barnett): Orly Zajac; (Irwin): David Bales; 4th ALTERNATES (as needed): Madeleine Looper
If you have any suggestions, questions or concerns, please contact the school at 405-366-5899 or email me at paulap@normanps.org. Much appreciation for all you do to help our students continue to be safe.
Best Regards,
Paula Palermo

All About our Curriculum! - Repeat
Lakeview teachers have worked hard to prepare information to help explain their curriculum and classroom procedures. We found that this worked well last year to share with all families. I have provided the links below for easy access. Please be sure to review whichever links pertain to your child(ren). If you have difficulty accessing the information, please reach out to me or your child's teacher.

As a reminder, OSDE has created PK-6 Family Guides as a resource aligned to the Oklahoma Academic Standards and developed to complement classroom learning. They provide a brief overview of students’ learning in that grade, as well as end-of-year expectations and suggested activities for students and families to do at home. The family guides include the subject areas of English language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, music, visual art, and physical education and health. These are available in English and Spanish.

September is used to shift public perception, spread hope and share vital information to people affected by suicide. The goal is to ensure that individuals, friends and families have access to the resources they need to discuss suicide prevention and to seek help.
