What's Happening in Elective Classes
In the Spanish classes, we are ramping up for our first real exam! The most recent quiz results are in and many students did very well! The play Marco el Mago has been introduced and the students are starting to practice it.The end of the semester is on the horizon and coming soon, shortly after we return in January.
In 7th grade Fitness class, we have just started the volleyball unit. Students are learning how to pass the ball to a teammate. They are learning the correct form: ready position, creating a platform, getting behind the ball, passing to the "top of the rainbow" to set their teammate up to receive the ball successfully.
The bands had their first concert of the year on December 5th. There was some new music to hear mixed in with some traditional holiday favorites. Mrs. Stout was proud of their preparation and performance. Now to start on new music for the next concert!
The Pioneer choirs have been busy preparing for our winter choir concert on December 19th. Each choir will be presenting three to four songs. This concert is the first performance for the Tenor-Bass, Soprano-Alto Choir's and the Chamber Choir.
Eight singers from the Advanced Choir have been selected to participate in the 2024 WMEA Junior All State Choirs, which will take place on February 18 in Yakima WA. Congratulations to Margaret Palacios and Jillian Wamsely for being selected to sing in the All State Mixed Choir. Congratulations to Alixe Wetzler, Mara Jones, Kyung Min Nam, Avery Pineda, Mayen Toppenberg and Sunshyne Trinidad for being selected to sing in the All State Treble Choir.
On Tuesday, December 12th, the Advanced and Chamber Choirs performed for the residence of Patriot's Landing in DuPont. This performance is a favorite of the choirs and they look forward to it every year.
