Grading
Remember that we have standards in the Staff Handbook/One-Stop-Shop for grading. Only giving a few grades does not accurately depict what a student is capable of academically. You should be putting in grades every week, not just right before Progress Report/Report Card time. If you have a large number of students failing your class, you should review and reflect upon your grading practices to determine if changes are needed. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Ditmore.
Weekly Reminders!
1. CONTINUE TO GIVE PBIS POINTS!
2. Make sure you are documenting in ABE!
3. Check the athletic duty schedule.
4. Remember that putting in grades weekly is a requirement.
Caught Getting on Mission!
Mrs. Lopez started a Donors Choose project "Enhancing Spanish Learning through Interactive Karaoke: Empowering Exceptional Students" and it has been fully funded by the College Football Playoff Foundation and the Country Music Association in honor of the Hispanic Heritage Celebration to assist a Latina teacher to inspire students to learn Spanish language through music. Way to go Mrs. Lopez!
Excellent school-to-life lesson Mrs. Nelson! Students were engaged and were relating the phases of the moon to a moment in their lives. Students were documenting each moon phase, using their creativity, memories, and personal experiences! It was fun to see all the students were coming up with!
Way to use data! Mr. Andrus’ class was caught collecting data on the gliders they created in STEM class! This is an example real-life and relevant activity that allowed students to have a hands-on moment with their own data collecting! Way to go Mr. Andrus!
In case you didn’t know, Ms. Pollard, our new 6th grade Social Studies teacher, is also our soccer coach! Talk about getting on mission! Ms. Pollard has stepped into her niche here at MAMS and is making a difference in the classroom and on the field! Way to go!
Way to get on mission Mrs. Vickers and Mrs. Schell! They both immediately dove into our Panther Prep activity during PLC and did an exemplary job of modeling the expectations with our high yield instructional strategies! Way to go!
