Welcome to Memorial Day weekend and June next week.

We had a splendid May at Marysville, ending with an incredible student Talent Show this afternoon and a delightful Staff Barbecue.

Thank you so much to all of the families that donated food and time to feed the staff with such abundance. We feel truly appreciated and grateful.

it is well known that Marysville students are amazing and our talent show was proof again of that fact.

I'm so proud of all the students that performed and our kind and thoughtful student audience. We love to celebrate with each other.

Thank you to Catherine Tucker and Leslie Rosenfield for organizing this year's talent show. As always, a big thanks to Mr. Boehm for being a great MC.

4th and 5th grade students also had a great start to their lunch time Chess tournament. Our students have great chess skills and great sportsmanship. The tournament will continue for the next two weeks during their lunch period. Go Chess Champions!

Enjoy treats and each other's company! Audrey Rozell, your SUN Site Manager for the past 8 years, is leaving Marysville School to start a new adventure. Please help us welcome Bianca McIntosh to this new position.

Additionally we will have the "Communities for Safe Kids" program from Impact NW visiting during this time and sharing information about their anti-bullying puppet program. You don't want to miss this special meeting! Little siblings are welcome.

Students will have access to most PPS Digital Toolkit applications during the summer. Students who enroll in summer school may notice changes in some applications once summer school begins. Most PPS Digital Toolkit applications will remain active throughout the summer. Applications may be temporarily unavailable at the beginning of August as PPS shifts to the 2023-2024 school year. Please note that during the summer months, teachers are not active inside the digital tools and applications. Parents should be aware of what students are doing online. Parents may find the Securly application and digital and civic literacy resources helpful.

Last week, OHA and ODE updated the statewide COVID-19 Isolation Guidance, which no longer recommends a five-day period of isolation for those infected with COVID-19.

Updated COVID-19 Isolation Guidance: Effective May 11th, a five-day period of isolation for those infected with COVID-19 will no longer be recommended. The recommendation for the general population will be to stay home until fever free for 24 hours and symptoms are improving; to avoid contact with individuals at increased risk for severe disease, including older adults and those with underlying medical conditions; and to consider masking for 10 days.

For the remainder of this school year:

• Schools will continue to submit a Student/Staff Communicable Disease Information Form if students test positive for or are diagnosed with COVID-19, Measles, Mumps, Varicella, mPox, or Pertussis or if an absentee threshold is met. Staff may continue to self-submit a SCIF for themselves.

• Building Administrators and School Nurses will continue to review daily their school’s Communicable Disease Sheet for up-to-date guidance.

• Students and staff are encouraged to mask if they are experiencing any symptoms of illness or are treating another individual with symptoms of illness.

• COVID-19 testing options continue to be available.

OHSU COVID-19 (Saliva) Screening Program will end on July 31, 2023. Thus, the OHSU Screening Program will not be available for summer 2023 camps nor during the 2023-2024 school year.

Dear Parents/Guardians,

As we approach the end of the school year, I wanted to remind you that if you have a student that has medication in the health room, it needs to be picked up by the last day of school. All medication that is not picked up by the last day of school will be disposed of.
