IB Word of the Month:
As an IB School, one of the primary areas of focus is the IB Learner Profile. The Learner Profile is a set a words developed by the International Baccalaureate which are evident in all IB schools. The intent of these words are meant to encourage students to develop and portray characteristics that will allow them to become life-long learners in a local and global society. Every month we will focus on one word of the Learner Profile.
The word of the month for September is “Principled”. What does it mean to be principled? A few examples of our Preschool and Fridley Community Center would be: sitting appropriately on the rug for circle time, cleaning up after themselves and/or others, demonstrating manners when walking down the hallway or playing with others, working to meet the expectations of what it looks like and feels like to be in school.
We encourage you to talk about this word with your child and what does it mean to be principled in other areas of school.
