Dublin Jerome High School
Take Responsibility, Always Growing, Better Together
September 23, 2022
A message from me...
Good Afternoon!
I get the opportunity each and every day to be surrounded by wonderful students, staff and community members of Jerome. This week I was able work with staff, visit classrooms, and learn. It was so fulfilling and such a great example of what makes Jerome a wonderful place.
The journey that we are on during this 2022-23 School Year will have some detours or potholes. We are a place of human relationships and experiences and we would be naive to believe our journey will be a perfect straight line. In order for us to adjust for the detours or fill in the potholes as a collective we need to do the work, learn from success and failure, and be coachable.
Our growth as a building and community requires struggle and the discomfort we all feel at times is necessary for continuous improvement. I am grateful to be on this journey with all of you and am working hard every day to be the best version of myself. Thank you.
Better Together,
Mike

Dublin Jerome Drama Club Presents...
One Stoplight Town is a story about people from a town so small that you might drive through without taking a second look. But if you stopped for just a moment, you might see a young boy and girl fall in love, a cantankerous grocery store owner coping with change, a son returning home while a daughter thinks about leaving, a beauty queen and a drum major striking up a friendship, and a handyman taking it all in while he fixes what is broken.
These stories and more are filled with fun characters, lots of humor, plenty of heart and the theme that change comes for us all, whether we are ready or not.

Attendance Reminders
Helpful attendance reminders:
- If your student will be absent from school the best way to communicate with the attendance office is via email djhs_attendance@dublinschools.net
- Calls placed to the attendance line are not excused absences. Students must bring written documentation of the absence from the parent on the day of his/her return.
- If your family is planning on going on an extended trip, please reach out at least 3-5 days prior to the trip so that we may assist you.
- Per House Bill 410, failure to supply written documentation of the absence will result in an unexcused absence and the student may be considered truant. Additionally, once a student accumulates 38 hours in one month or 65 hours in a school year, only a doctor’s note will be accepted as written documentation of an excused absence.
- Please understand, if you call the school to report your students' absence, per district policy in accordance with HB 66, you will receive a call from the automated system.
