Falcon News
Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe
Dear Colton Middle School families and community,
It is with great excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the new principal of Colton Middle School. It is an honor to be able to serve our staff, students, parents, and community.
My career in education started at Walnut. I attended Mount San Antonio Community College for my associate’s degree. I then went on to attain my Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from California State Fullerton. I received my Master’s and teaching credential from the University of La Verne. After completing my 14th year of teaching, I attended Concordia University and received my Master’s degree in Education and my administrative credential. The first 15 years of my career were spent in Charter Oak Unified as a teacher and athletic trainer. In 2015, I was hired here at Colton Joint Unified as an assistant principal. I served the Grand Terrace High School communities for five years and Bloomington High School for a year.
During this past year, I know it has been a challenging time. I want to assure you that our staff will continue to work to provide our students with the best possible learning experience. I believe that by working together with our families and having open lines of communication, we can ensure that every Falcon student continues to succeed.
We look forward to seeing you at our Back to School Night, on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, from 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm. Our first bell rings at 7:50 am and students must be in class by 8:02 am. Student dismissal time is 3:00 pm. CMS has late start days every Thursday, and students will be in school from 9:40 am to 3:00 pm. Please continue to check our school website at www.cjusd.net/cms for important information.
I look forward to building a strong relationship with the Falcon community and working closely with all stakeholders to support our school mission to inspire and empower our students to excel both academically and socially while preparing them to be productive citizens and future leaders.
If you have any questions, concerns, or ideas that you would like to discuss, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Sincerely,
Erica Mac Donald
Principal
Colton Middle School

Meet Our New Staff
Ms. Davis, RSP Teacher
Ms. Luna Spanish Teacher
Hola, my name is Mrs. Luna. I'm very excited to be working at Colton Middle School and be teaching Spanish. This will be my 4th year teaching and I look forward to meeting all of you. I graduated from CSUSB with a BA in Spanish and in my spare time I enjoy playing the piano and taking my huskies on walks.
Mr. Becker Business Teacher
This is my first year teaching Business. I was a substitute teacher in Romoland, CA for five years before that. I was raised in Orange, CA and went to college in San Bernardino. I’m excited to promote trade jobs and hands-on activities to the students at Colton Middle.
Prior to teaching, I worked in the real estate industry as a mortgage broker. I also represented a few clients with their home purchases. I also dabbled in the health care industry as an in-service trainer of nurses and worked at a health care consulting firm.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my fiancée, researching business and economics, and entrepreneurial activities.
